Even after a second playthrough of Gorogoa it is still hard to describe what makes this puzzler so unique. The mechanics of Gorogoa’s puzzles actually justify the existence of video games. All puzzles are multi-layered and animation-infused. Everything in Gorogoa is hand-drawn and describes a tragic story with a perfect solemn soundtrack. This is the type of game I would show to people that have never experienced a video game. Read more

Donut County – Review

The main mechanic in Ben Eposito’s Donut County is letting things and people fall into a movable black hole. The more things and people fall into that hole the bigger the hole gets. The reasons why you would do something like gets explained along your jouney. Story expostion is done in beautful animated scenes with text dialoges. Without too much spoiler: it is all because of the crazy racoons. Read more

The First Tree takes you on an emotional journey through a gorgeous looking landscape. You take control of a fox that can free roam through different maps where you find story pieces and other collectables. A beautiful piano soundtrack will underscore all important parts of the story. Read more

The Fidelio Incident – Review

The Fidelio Incident is a 2 hour puzzle infused walking simulator. Graphics are gorgeous and realistic. Voice acting and sound are fantastic. The story revolves around a couple that got separated during a plane crash. There are also lots flashbacks describing how the two met in troubled times at the height of the Northern Ireland conflict. Far From Noise – Review

Far From Noise - Significate Day

Far From Noise is one of those short but charming Indie titles. It asks existential questions through a conversation between the main protagonist and a stag. The graphics are simple but match the brooding mood of the conversations perfectly. The icing on the cake is an excellent soundtrack that reminded me in some parts of Dear Esther. Read more
